Five children were born to Mary Ann (KENT) Odenbaugh who died in 1861 and either Christian who died in 1860 or his brother. These "orphans" show up in the 1870 Census living with other families. It is likely that the REED and PORTER families were related. Since we don't know the last names of several of the wives of Charles' sons, it is probable that they were aunt/uncles or grandparents.
