Daniel Odenbaugh was a gunsmith in Wheeling, Virginia
(now West Virginia). His shop was located on 209 Market between Union and
Madison. He lived on Wheeling Island. In 1864 his son Charles Odenbaugh was
listed as a member of the Gun shop. In 1867(?) the shop moved to Virginia
St. The Rifle pictured below is stamped "D. Odenbaugh Wheeling Virginia"..
This puts the Rifle manufacture date between 1843 and 1863.. Looking for
additional information on the Daniel and his son Charles that relates to the
Wheeling area and the Gun Shop.
