Pennsylvania
Charles Odenbaugh moved his family from Virginia to Greene
County about 1802. He had 8 children and died as a soldier in the War
of 1812. His wife, Catherine Fry Odenbaugh, remarried James Bradford
in Greene County. Children of Charles Odenbaugh were Jacob, Samuel,
Mary, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Christian, Elizabeth, and Daniel.
Jacob moved to Washington County by 1830, Samuel was in Greene County until
his death about 1840. Mary married Thomas Hughes and moved to
Wheeling, (West) Virginia. Thomas married Susannah Craig and moved to
Washington County by 1830. George married Prudence (?) and was in
Greene County until 1870, when he moved with his family to Kansas.
Christian reportedly married Mary Ann Kent Eisiminger and lived in Greene
County until his death in 1860. Elizabeth married William Kent and
died in Brave, PA in 1868. Daniel married Julia Ann Beyer and moved to
Wheeling, (West) Virginia.

Charles ODENBAUGH lived in Greene County, PA where his son George Washington Odenbaugh (John Bert's ggrandfather) then lived for almost 70 years before joining his children in moving to Kansas.

Thomas Jefferson Odenbaugh (George's brother) lived in neighboring Washington County for about 65 years before his widow and children moved to Ohio.
Various siblings lived in 4 different townships around the county seats of Greensburg and Washington, as well as just across the state line in Wheeling, West Virginia.
